The Finnish Lapphund
The Finnish Lapphund is a really ancient breed who comes from the Lapponian area. The Lappons used these dogs for guard and herd of their reindeers. This little herding dog is resistant, brave, trustworthy, playful and easy to educate / train. It really loves kids and plays with them. Social and intelligent, the Lappie loves to work with his owner. It is an agility champion in its country of origin: Finland.
The Finnish Lapphund is a great compromise between the spitz/nordic dog and the shepherd. Sportive, it shows its great qualities in obedience and agility rings. It is too social to be a good guard dog.
Even if the Lappie is born « shepherd », it is more relax than the Border Collie and less suspicious than the Shetland Sheepdog.
Agility, fly-ball, obedience and tracking fanciers, the Finnish Lapphund can be a really great choice.
The Finnish Lapphund is an active dog, full of energy and alive. It is perfect for obedience and agility! Great companion for active family, it adapts well in apartment.
